Bahrain, Saudi firms back Arab cable summit

Manama, August 17, 2011

Bahrain-based Midal Cable and Saudi Arabia’s Saudi Cable will be the gold sponsors of an upcoming conference which brings together leading Arab cable manufactures and their international peers and customers.

Organised by the Arab Cable Manufacturers Association, the seventh annual ArabCab Conference is set to take place from September 25 to 28 in Granada, Spain.

This year’s conference will look at “Renewable energy and its relation to the cable and wire world,” a topic that will be tackled by industry players and experts in the field of alternative energy.

Spain has been selected as the venue for the conference for reasons including its long historical relationship with the Arab culture and markets as well as its position among the leading centres for the development and use of alternative energy sources.

As part of the conference activities, participating delegates will also have the chance to visit the world’s largest alternative energy power production facility, the Andasol Solar Power Station, located in Ishbiliya, Spain.

Nexans, a Paris-based leading global cable manufacturer, with a presence in 40 countries and activities worldwide, is also a gold sponsor of the event.

“We are delighted with the strong interest we are receiving for the seventh annual ArabCab Conference from industry leading companies across the Arab world and globally,” said Hamid Al Zayani, president of ArabCab.

“We are especially pleased to announce that Midal Cable and Saudi Cable, two of the region’s foremost manufacturers, have join Nexans as gold sponsors of this exciting event taking place in Spain, a key centre for alternative energy, the focus for this year’s conference and an increasingly important topic whose future usage may have an important role to play in the industry’s further development and that of our customers across the Middle East and worldwide.”

“We thank Midal Cable and Saudi Cable for their support and look forward to bringing together senior executives and experts from the industry, the field of alternative energy and numerous financial institutions involved in the financing of such projects both from the high growth Arab markets as well as Europe and other global markets of note,” he added.

The three day conference will focus on examining and building awareness of alternative energy solutions and opportunities for investing in alternative energy sources with a focus on the cable industry both in the Arab world and beyond. – TradeArabia News Service
