PARIS, FRANCE, June 14, 2016

Viva Technology Paris, an international event dedicated to growth of start-ups and digital transformation, is set to attract over 30,000 visitors, including hundreds of leading investors as well as 5,000 start-ups from around the world.

Hundreds of global technology leaders are expected at the event, including Eric Schmidt (Alphabet), John Chambers (Cisco), David Marcus (Facebook) and Frédéric Mazzella (Blablacar).

Set to commence on June 30 at Porte de Versailles in Paris, the event will hold B2B focused seminars and networking events for two days, before opening its doors to the public on July 2. Students, future entrepreneurs, young talents and the curious layperson, will all have access to the event aimed at professionals.

The conference will host top speakers, world exclusives, tech innovation previews and ‘job-dating’ workshops. It will provide an entirely immersive experience allowing the public to meet the experts of this fast-changing field, giving them insight into tomorrow’s technology, according to a press release.

Maurice Lévy, chairman and CEO of organiser Publicis Groupe, said: “Viva Technology will provide a unique opportunity for its participants to identify future trends, to explore various innovations, to better anticipate the changes in business models, and to meet the leaders of tomorrow, but also to play around with different innovations like virtual reality. We therefore wanted to open the event to the public (students, families, young entrepreneurs, etc), allowing them to explore all the latest innovations.”

The event will also be packed with entertainment including virtual performances, gaming, drone races, remote-controlled robots and art workshops (painting and music). Other activities for unwinding will also be organised, creating a relaxed atmosphere that is ideal for forging links, the press release added.

The public will also have access to conferences and workshops creating the opportunity to meet leading actors of the digital entrepreneurial ecosystem who will explain the different stages of creating a start-up, the different funding means (crowdfunding, investors), and how to be creative, efficient and well informed.

Those looking to boost their careers will be able to access several thousand start-ups and big international companies looking to recruit talent, through the Talent Connect platform created by Manpower.

Some innovations that will be on display at the event include:

• A prototype of the Google Self-Driving Car project will be showcased for the first time in Europe
• The autonomous machines from SeaBubble
• The most impressive robots: Ingenica Rius, Kristonic, Robotswim, etc.
