Swiss Ambassador visits Julphar

The UAE-based pharmaceutical manufacturer Julphar Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries recently invited Maya Tissafi, Ambassador of Switzerland to the UAE, to visit its head office in Ras Al Khaimah.
Tissafi was welcomed by Sheikh Faisal Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, chairman of Julphar; Sheikh Abdullah Bin Faisal Al Qasimi, member of the board; and Dr Ayman Sahli, chief executive officer of the company, said a statement from Julphar.
During her meeting, Tissafi was briefed on Julphar and had the opportunity to visit the company’s Insulin and Liquid Orals plants, it said.
The 20,000-sq-m Julphar Insulin plant, one of the most modern biopharmaceutical manufacturing plants, is designed for producing recombinant human insulin and insulin analogues crystals (rDNA) and has the capability to produce 40 million vials of insulin per year, it stated.
The Liquid Orals plant manufactures liquid dosage forms using sophisticated, world-class equipment and is fully automated to produce syrups, suspensions and drops with minimal human intervention at any stage of the production, said a statement.
The guided tour emphasised the importance of Julphar in the pharmaceutical industry, and was the opportunity for the company to showcase its latest development of business activities and operational innovations, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
