Dubai forum to discuss Latin America opportunities

DUBAI, January 30, 2018

New business opportunities emerging in the wake of Latin America’s economic rebound and Dubai’s role in supporting the region’s ambitions are among key topics that government and business leaders will address on the 2nd Global Business Forum (GBF) on Latin America in Dubai, said a report.

Themed "Connect – Collaborate – Grow", the forum will feature interactive sessions offering insights on major economic trends, events and issues impacting Latin American markets, particularly those pertaining to trade and investment opportunities, which offer potential for companies and investors in the UAE and GCC, reported state news agency Wam.

The high-profile forum, organised by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will be held next month on February 27 and 28, at Dubai’s Atlantis Hotel, under the patronage of the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Hamad Buamim, president and CEO of Dubai Chamber, highlighted the importance of GBF Latin America and described the premier event as the largest event of its kind to be held in the Middle East.

Buamim said that there is plenty of scope to expand economic cooperation between Latin American businesses and their Dubai counterparts, especially within the areas of agriculture, energy, tourism and finance.

He added that GBF Latin America is the ideal platform to host constructive conversations about such matters and explore new avenues of cooperation between business communities in Latin America, the UAE and GCC.
