Batelco launches Video Mail

Manama, January 15, 2008

Bahrain’s Batelco has launched Video Mail, the first service of its kind for the kingdom. Video Mail – similar to voice mail but with video – further enhances the portfolio of communication tools offered by the company.

Video Mail is part of Batelco’s innovative O Services, based on 3.5G technology which provides subscribers with access to the fastest mobile broadband service available in the kingdom, said a statement.

Batelco’s 3.5G ‘portfolio’ includes mobile broadband, video calling and a new mobile portal with a wide range of exciting content targeting all segments in Bahrain.

To use the exciting new services, customers need to subscribe to Batelco’s O services and register for video mail. Each customer will be assigned a video mailbox. The cost for registration is only BD1 and video mail forwarding is free of charge.

“With Batelco Video Mail service, instead of just leaving a voicemail, customers can now leave a video mail, bringing friends and family closer together. Voice alone can be misinterpreted but with the addition of facial expressions, messages are given more meaning,” said Batelco corporate affairs general manager Ahmed Al Janahi.

“Staying in touch has just become much more fun!” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
