Batelco launches video conference calls

Batelco has announced the launch of video conference calls, the first service of its kind for the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Video conference calls add an exciting new dimension to mobile communications and further enhances the fantastic portfolio of products and  services offered by Batelco, the Kingdom’s leading integrated telecommunications company.

Video conferencing is part of Batelco’s innovative O Services, based on 3.5 G technology, which provides subscribers with access to the fastest mobile broadband service available in the Kingdom. Batelco’s 3.5G ‘portfolio’ includes mobile broadband, video mail and a new mobile portal with a wide range of exciting content targeting all segments in Bahrain.

Batelco provides its customers with free subscription to the video conference services and the rates for usage are based on package video call rates. Customers who have a 3G handset and are subscribed to Batelco’s 3G network will be automatically able to make video conference calls.

With Batelco video conference service, up to five people at different locations can see and hear other simultaneously. 

“This innovative new service provides a group of people geographically separated to have face to face meetings thus saving time and money on travelling,” said Batelco Corporate Affairs General Manager Ahmed Al Janahi.

“Voice alone can be misinterpreted but with the addition of facial expressions, conversations are given more meaning,”  he observed.
