Dubai to host 'Broadband Global Summit'

Dubai, February 24, 2010

Leading telecommunication companies will share their vision for future high-speed services at the 'Broadband Global Summit' which begins next month in Dubai.

Informa Telecoms & Media will organise the second annual 'Broadband Global Summit 2010' from March 8 to 10 at the One & Only Royal Mirage Hotel.

This year's event builds upon our inaugural 2009 conference, which saw an impressive 62 per cent operator attendance with representation from 35 countries across the globe, remarked Helen Ponsford, conference manager at Informa Telecoms & Media.

'This year’s summit will welcome over 60 high level speakers, including 38 carefully chosen operator case studies, sure to prove invaluable to international and locally based attendees alike,' she noted.

In addition, the summit will feature an interactive pre-conference workshop led by Ventura Team and a highly focused exhibition. The exhibition floor will also include a special VIP area, along with a networking zone, press area and our exclusive Broadband TV.

'We are honoured to announce Etisalat’s support of the show as Strategic Operator Partner this year. Other companies who have invested into the event as sponsors this year to date include Huawei, Ericsson, ZTE, Nokia Siemens Networks, Detecon and Alcatel-Lucent,' Helen said.

“Broadband Global Summit 2010 will provide all of the leading operators in the region with an unmissable platform to reveal their latest insights and plans for investment into a world-class broadband infrastructure,” she added.

This year’s event will also feature an exclusive LTE Focus Day on March 8, with a series of high level, commercially orientated presentations from Etisalat, STC, Qtel, Du and many more.

“We are especially looking forward to welcoming Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar, Group COO of Etisalat, who has confirmed his participation as the opening Keynote speaker of the event,” Helen stated.

Among the many exciting features of the event, Nokia Siemens Networks (Lead Sponsor of the LTE Focus Day and Silver Sponsor of the Broadband Global Summit) will be showcasing a major new live LTE demo.

'Enjoy video sharing and streaming, learn why latency is important, and being one of the first to make a Voice over LTE call!,' she added.
