Viva Bahrain launches voice SMS

Manama, July 5, 2011

Viva Bahrain has introduced voice SMS service as part of its efforts to enrich its customers’ experiences through value added services.

Viva customers can now benefit from the service which enables them to leave voice messages for other customers on Viva’s network.

The service, which costs 30 fils per SMS, bridges the gap between direct voice communication and text messaging, breathing life and personality into an SMS, said a statement.

A voice SMS enables one to convey to-the-point messages with discretion. Much livelier than a simple text message, a voice SMS is also a great way to send greetings and congratulations on special occasions, it said.

To send a voice SMS, simply dial *3 followed by the recipient’s eight-digit phone number and record the desired message. To listen to a new message, dial *0* to retrieve it for free, to re-listen to old messages, customers can dial *1* at the cost of 35 fils per retrieval.

“This is a dynamic service that further enhances communication between our clients, making it easier to reach one another in all circumstances,” said Andrew Hanna, chief commercial officer at Viva.

“We strive to make communication both efficient and enjoyable for our customers,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
