Minerva, a leading telecom distributor, will take on the Middle East distribution of an automated dispatching software developed by Russia-based Elcomplus.

SmartPTT, the new software package, harnesses the considerable benefits of the Motorola Mototrbo digital platform, a statement said.

SmartPTT is available in Arabic and is attuned to regional laws across the Middle East, it added.

It offers peerless functionality for radio dispatch including GPS monitoring (monitoring of Mototrbo subscriber radios with embedded GPS-receiver), data transmission and storage, as well as telephone interconnect (calls between Mototrbo Radio and telephone subscribers).

Users can reboot the dispatch paradigm on their own terms by working in “mixed mode”, enabling some sites to operate in analog and others in digital, allowing for the gradual upgrade to the latest radio technology standard.

With an ability to manage subscriber networks of any size and topology, SmartPTT is both cost-efficient, saving considerable money compared to control-station based solutions, and highly scalable, the statement said.
