Zain Bahrain backs top SME forum

Zain Bahrain, a leading telecom service provider, was one of the key sponsors of the recently held first GCC Future Entrepreneurs Forum.

The two-day forum was organised by Bahrain Development Bank and supported by the Ministry of Finance as mandated by the GCC Ministerial Committee for Planning and Development and held under the patronage of HRH the Prime Minister of Bahrain,  Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

The telecoms company rewarded media members for their support of Bahrain’s entrepreneurs and of the forum and gave away state-of-the-art handsets to media members at the event.

“Zain Bahrain was a key sponsor of the first GCC Future Entrepreneurs Forum since we saw this as an opportunity to strengthen our support for the growth and future prosperity of Bahrain and to reward the media for its role in building the future of the nation,” said corporate communications manager Samya Hussein.

“Entrepreneurial ventures create employment which boosts the economy of the country and in turn the region as a whole. Forums of this nature encourage exchange of knowledge, skills and experiences not just within the GCC but also tap expertise from Asia, Europe and the US as well.”

“Zain Bahrain is keenly aware of the need for good infrastructural support for SMEs and that included excellent telecommunications. We have always used technology to help SMEs and entrepreneurs to leapfrog into the latest technological phase and will continue such efforts,” she added.

VIP guests at the event included GCC Secretary General HE Abdullatif Alzayani, GCC Minister’s of Economy and Planning, Head of US Small Business Bureau and Cabinet Member, Indian Minister of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises and EU Commissioner for Business. – TradeArabia News Service
