Batelco plans to remove selected unused payphones

MANAMA, December 23, 2014

Batelco, Bahrain’s leading communications company, has requested feedback from customers regarding a number of public payphone that are rarely or never used, which it plans to remove from service.

The selected payphones have been marked with stickers and Batelco has asked customers to contact them within 60 days of the date of this announcement with any objection they may have to the removal of these specific phones, said a statement.

Batelco carried out a similar exercise in 2011 and 2012, when a number of rarely used payphones were removed following consultation with customers.

Customers are asked to forward their concerns by calling Batelco Customer Care Helpdesk on 196, available around the clock, every day of the year, or by calling TRA’s free hotline on 81188, said the statement.

The full list of the selected payphones with their locations can be found on a dedicated web page which can be accessed at Batelco’s official website, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
