Madi marks Goldwell’s first year in GCC

DUBAI, June 9, 2015

Madi International, a leading distributor of international beauty brands in the Middle East, recently held an event in Dubai, UAE to mark global hair styling brand Goldwell’s first anniversary in the GCC.

The event was held at the Armani Hotel, Burj Khalifa and was attended by some of the biggest names in the industry, including Cory Couts – global president, Salon Division and Eric Brockhus – president, Kao EMEA, in addition to many  Global dignitaries from Europe and the rest of the regions.

Goldwell reached the height of its success in a short period of time in the GCC and has made some remarkable achievements in the growing beauty and personal care industry, a statement said.

Research has shown that the Middle East and Africa (MEA) has overtaken Latin America as the world’s fastest growing market for beauty and personal care products. The MEA region was valued at $25.7 billion in 2014 and it is estimated that the beauty market in the region will record a 4.8 per cent annual growth rate between 2014 and 2019, which is almost twice the global average of 2.6 per cent.

Studies have shown that consumers in Saudi Arabia spent $4.8 billion and the UAE spent $1.4 billion on hair care, bath and shower, cosmetics, deodorants, fragrances, men’s grooming, oral care and skin care last year.
