Viber expands B2B offering with service message API

Viber, a leading messaging app with more than 606 million users, has opened for business offering a number of opportunities to partners worldwide, including service messages and promotional sticker packs.
 
The introduction of a new A2P (app to person) technology will allow businesses to send informative and personal messages to their customers on Viber, said a statement.
 
The innovative API will enables telecommunication companies who deliver service messages on behalf of businesses, such as banks or credit card providers, to engage with customers using Viber’s familiar instant messaging platform, it said.
 
Ido Iungelson, director of Revenue, said: “We are delighted to offer Viber’s innovative messaging platform to enable businesses to share rich content with their audience in a familiar and intuitive way.
 
“Our new technology allows companies to adopt a personal approach to customer services that is both economical and highly efficient.”
 
The companies using Viber’s service message technology can send rich content messages with images, buttons and up to 1000 text characters in any language, offering a more engaging experience for end-users, said the statement.
 
The Viber API will offer insight into how users are interacting with communications confirming when a message is sent, delivered and whether the message has been seen, it said.
 
Viber offers a competitive rate and businesses will only pay for messages that are actually delivered.
 
The partners already using the service include Fortytwo Telecom, a quality mobile messaging service provider; GMS, a market leader in SMS-messaging, mobile marketing and ICT solutions; Intervale, a leading provider of mobile and e-commerce services; Nexmo, a leading cloud communications platform provider; and SMS Online, one of the leading VAS providers.
 
Viber Sticker Packs
 
Viber offers a number of opportunities for brands and media agencies to create unique sticker packs as part of their digital marketing campaigns, said the statement.
 
‘Free’ promotional sticker packs provide a fun and colorful way for companies to generate brand awareness and engage with Viber users, who can download the packs free of charge to use within their chats, it said.
 
Viber also offers ‘Free and Follow’ stickers, which can be used to drive traffic to a Viber ‘Public Chat’. Public Chats are group conversations that all Viber users can follow. 
 
It provides a way for brands to connect with their users to keep them up to date with the latest news, facts, exclusive photos and more. When users download a “Free and Follow” sticker pack, they are automatically led to the relevant Public Chat, offering a great way for brands to build an engaged audience.
 
Recent sticker packs published to the Viber sticker market include Miller Lite’s ‘Gameday’ stickers, 1-800-FLOWERS’ ‘Make Mom Smile’ Mothers Day stickers, ‘Gotham’ stickers for the Fox television show, ‘Gary at the Movies’ film-themed stickers for the Philippines Telco, Globe and Nescafé’s ‘Face’ stickers. - TradeArabia News Service
