Bahrain iGA chief wins top honours in Kuwait

Bahrain's Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) said its CEO Mohammed Ali Al Qaed has been honoured by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah for his remarkable contributions as a jury member in the 23rd edition (2023) of the His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award. 
 
Recognizing his exceptional contributions during his seven years as a jury member, Sheikha Aida Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Chairperson of the Award's Board of Trustees, awarded Al Qaed, a certification of appreciation.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Al Qaed lauded the Award's Board of Trustees and organizers for their warm reception and hospitality, and wished the State of Kuwait continued success, especially in digital and ICT events.
 
He commended the participating Arab nations and their winning projects, reiterating his deep appreciation to HH the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Board of Trustees, and the Award’s organizers for facilitating the 23rd edition of the prestigious event, and wishing them continued success.
 
Al Qaed also congratulated the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) on winning the Informatics Medal in its 17th edition. This prestigious medal, awarded annually to one institution or individual, is the Award’s ultimate accolade and marks a significant milestone in its history which dates back to 2001. 
Al Qaed praised the CBB’s achievement, noting its efforts in realizing the government’s vision to enhance banking services through digital transformation. 
 
He highlighted the CBB’s dedication to excellence in delivering globally-competitive services, and extended them wishes of further progress and success.
 
Emphasizing the Award’s significance, Al Qaed highlighted its pivotal role in fostering opportunities, empowering Arab countries with access to the latest technologies and digital solutions, and facilitating the exchange of successful experiences. 
 
He underscored the Award’s impact in enhancing regional competitiveness and the advancement of IT infrastructure, as well as its role in bridging the digital divide to improve the quality of life across the Arab world.
