Sharp unveils e-Signage ad solution

Dubai, November 14, 2007

Sharp Corp, Japan, has launched e-Signage, a powerful digital advertising solution that is set to revolutionise point-of-impact advertising.

Using special software and high definition LCD Information Display (IDP), e-Signage enables messages to be delivered to a series of displays through a single-point control.

e-Signage is targeted at shopping malls, hotels, banks, hospitals, transport hubs and other locations that require messages to be delivered with high clarity and cost-effectiveness, through a single control unit, instead of using a separate unit for each display. Network control is also supported.

'Businesses today spend huge amounts of money on advertising and marketing through traditional media, but forget the crucial point - the stores. This is where e-Signage comes in, influencing decisions and driving sales at point of sales,' said managing director of Sharp, Middle East FZE, Tomio Isogai.

'e-Signage delivers content on state of the art LCD IDPs, and management software includes remote scheduling tools that allow the user to change content on a single display, a group of displays or the entire network at once, eliminating costs and lag time,' he added.

Isogai said e-Signage delivers on Sharp's promise of going green, as it consumes less power and enables businesses to switch off displays from a single source, when not required. The technology used in e-Signage is in sync with Sharp's vision to be minimum impact for global warming by 2010.

Sharp also showcased its full-featured 65-inch monitor, the PN-G655E Professional LCD Monitor, which uses advanced technology to display all types of HD content - from video to stills - and shows both analog and digital content with ease. The PN-G655E complements the e-Signage solution.

The Sharp PN-G655E utilises DFE (Dual-Fine Engine) technology, which enables the customer to display both computer and video content flawlessly. The monitor has a full complement of input and output connectors to show all types of content, from DVD to varying PC resolutions up through 1920 x 1080 native mode from both analog and digital (DVI) sources.

To serve the image-quality needs of the commercial market better, the Sharp PN-G655E has a three-wavelength spectrum, cold-cathode fluorescent backlight that provides an enhanced color spectrum including deeper, more vibrant and vivid reds.
