Shaikh Nasser Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the brother of UAE President Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, died in a helicopter crash on Monday night, it was announced.

Shaikh Nasser died when the helicopter carrying him and his colleagues crashed over Gulf waters, a WAM report said.

The UAE Ministry of Presidential Affairs, in a statement, announced a three-day mourning period starting Tuesday.

Funeral prayers for Shaikh Nasser and his colleagues will be performed at the Shaikh Sultan Bin Zayed Mosque in Al Bateen.
