Dubai, November 20, 2008

Emirates Printing Press (EPP), a high quality printing house in Dubai, UAE, recently won two prestigious Sappi European Printer of the Year Awards in Hamburg, Germany.

EPP CEO Mohamed Al Shirawi and executive director Samuel Natarajan received the awards on behalf of the company including the silver award in the brochure category and the bronze award in the magazine category.

The winning entry in the brochure category was the corporate brochure produced for the luxurious hotel Burj Al Arab. On the magazines side, it was Harpers Bazaar, published by ITP which won the bronze award.

EPP has also won several other awards both in local and international levels.

EPP is the leading printer of magazines, books, catalogues, brochures, annual reports and directories in the UAE for all leading local and international publishers, and prints in excess of 200 million pages per month. EPP also caters to various airlines in the region including Emirates Airlines, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways.

Since 1994, the Sappi European Printer of the year Awards have been considered the Oscars of the printing industry contested by over 700 printing companies from 34 countries in Europe.

EPP was the only printer nominated from the Middle East to compete for this award, said a company official.

“It is a great honor to be ranked among the best printing presses in Europe,” said Al Shirawi.

“EPP has always invested in the best equipment and technology available but the real reason for our success is the team work and commitment of our staff in honing their cutting edge skills,” added Samuel.

With 30 plus years of experience in the print industry, the company employs over 600 people. Its Al Quoz plant occupies a built up area of 240,000 square feet, making it one of the largest in the UAE.-TradeArabia News Service
