3M launches recycled Post-it products

Dubai, December 17, 2008

3M, a diversified technology company, launched its range of Post-it products made from recycled paper, in line with the company’s drive towards sustainability and to contribute to the UAE’s efforts for protecting the local environment.

The new Post-it range includes Notes, Super-sticky Notes and Super-sticky Easel pads, which all have a minimum of 30 per cent recycled postconsumer content and additional green attributes.

“This is a product range that truly embodies our environmental commitment as a company, and communicating this commitment to markets around the globe has essentially been 3M’s way of doing business over the last 30 years,” commented Pankaj Sharma of 3M.

“The UAE has made it clear that it is committed to promoting environmental sustainability through recycling – as demonstrated through the efforts of organisations like the Emirates Environmental Group and other groups that are, like 3M, seeking to make a difference for future environmental protection.”

All of 3M’s Post-it Notes are recyclable.

3M has made a long-term pledge to environmental stewardship with the introduction of the 3M Corporate Environmental Policy, which is a deeply rooted commitment to the environment and protecting the planet for the future.

“In the office environment paper is frequently wasted, yet so much can be done to stop this damaging practice, which forms a part of our efforts,” added Sharma.

“In light of the fact that every tonne of recycled paper will save 17 trees, 2.3 cubic metres of landfill space, 32,000 litres of water and 27kg of air pollutants; using recycled Notes – or even recycling normal Post-it Notes - will have a measureable, positive impact on the environment of the UAE and our planet as a whole,” he concluded.-TradeArabia News Service
