DSF to showcase emerging designers

Dubai, January 14, 2009

Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) will be presenting some of the region’s most gifted emerging designers at one of its signature events Creations.

This event will be held from January 23 to 30 between 6.30pm to 8pm.

Creations, a progressive eight-day fashion event, has been conceived as a platform for upcoming local and regional fashion designers who are aiming to establish themselves in the region, said a DSF official.

For the fifth year running, DSF will provide all logistical support to showcase this inspiring amateur talent, giving the budding fashion-industry stars of tomorrow the added advantage of sharing the stage with some established international fashion designers from around the globe.

“As a platform for emerging and established designers, Creations has been extremely successful as is evident from the growing number of participants from a larger geographical area. Over an eight-day period, Creations 2009 will feature the collections of renowned designers from as far away as Brazil. A larger global participation will be reflected on the collections displayed,” said services event manager at DSF Office Maitha Gobash.

Creations this year will feature the collections of established labels such as Lida O’Reilly from Mauritius, Aiisha Couture from Lebanon, Larisa Katz from Netherlands, Oka Diputra from Indonesia, Mich Dulce from Philippines, Carloss Tufression from Brazil, Elena Gracia from United Kingdom, and Samora Couture from the US.

Additionally, upcoming designers and labels from around the region will converge at Burjuman to showcases innovative designs in one show per day during the event. – TradeArabia News Service
