Police summit to discuss economic crisis

Dubai, March 14, 2009

Dubai Police Academy’s annual international conference will discuss causes of the current global economic crisis as well as the potential dangers that could occur as a result.

The conference entitled “Legal & Security Aspects of the Current Financial Crisis” will be held from March 15 to17 at the academy’s headquarters.

It will also look at the best possible ways to avoid encountering these potential threats arising as an outcome of the crisis and how to sufficiently handle and manage them.

The summit will arrange meetings between Dubai Police authorities and experts in the relevant fields, and provides a forum for discussing key issues and poignant topics about the current crisis that are relevant on the national, regional and global front.

Emirates NBD, the region’s largest banking group in terms of assets, will be the sponsor for the event.

“We at Emirates NBD felt that it was imperative to be involved with this annual conference, especially considering this year’s topic on the global effects of the current economic crisis,” said Saif Al Mansouri, had of marketing CWM at Emirates NBD.

“We support the Dubai Police Academy for their strong efforts and for recognizing the full range of issues that need to be discussed and we are pleased to be working in collaboration with them, hoping that the outcome of this conference will benefit the community and the nation at large,” he added.

Emirates NBD is steadily backing greater causes within the community to continuously promote cultural growth and development, he said. – TradeArabia News Service
