New chief for Al Tamimi in Qatar

Al Tamimi & Company, the largest independent law firm in the Middle East, has appointed Jay Fortin as head of the Qatar office.

He will join the firm as a partner in January 2011 and will lead the office in Doha, Qatar, one of the firm’s key jurisdictions.  
 
Jay is one of the region’s leading power and infrastructure projects lawyers, and joins from the Abu Dhabi office of Patton Boggs. He has over 20 years experience in project finance, including the development, acquisition and financing of power plants, ports and transport projects as well as aircraft and rail leasing.

He represents overseas and domestic banks and financial institutions, private equity funds, developers, contractors and equipment lessors in regional and cross-border transactions.
