Joint managing director and founder of Active Public Relations, Sawsan Ghanem, has been awarded the title of Arab Entrepreneur of the Year 2011, at a gala dinner hosted by SME Advisor Stars of Business & Summit Awards 2011 recently.

Innovation, ambition, determination and significant business achievements are the criteria upon which the judges, a panel of regional industry leaders, select the winners, a statement from the comapmys said.

Ghanem was also short-listed for the Admirable Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award category.

In 2003, she pursued her desire of setting up a public relations agency, which opened the doors of Active Public Relations and Marketing Communications Consultancy (Active PR).

Since then there has been over 200 percent growth with a strong network of international partners and clients.
