Bahrain 'still the prime target' of conspiracies

Manama, May 21, 2014

Bahrain and its people are still the prime target of multi-form conspiracies which aim to subvert national security and stability and sow disunity, the Premier warned yesterday.

"We stand united with our loyal people with firm determination to ward off plots," he said, as he received the National Unity Assembly (NUA) central authority led by executive committee chairman Dr Shaikh Abdullatif Al Mahmoud.

He urged all segments to be more aware of the coming challenges and join ranks to stave off attempts to spread chaos and destruction under false slogans which are anathema to peace-loving Bahrainis, reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

"Attempts to sow hatred and drive wedges between people will surely be doomed to failure," said His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

He said that the march of development would continue its path, thanks to the citizens who put national interests above self-serving designs.

"All attempts to weaken national resolve and sap peoples' cohesions will surely abort," he said, adding that Bahrain has all along its deep-rooted history resisted mayhem and destruction.

"We have the will and the solid national fundamentals to overcome the hardest challenges," he said.

The Premier hailed NUA's role in bolstering patriotic work and preserving vital interests.

He also urged the Al Fateh Coalition to maintain unity so as to uphold its presence as a key representative of the people.

He recalled their historic stance which rallied to defend Bahrain "while others turned their back or aimed their arrows at their nation". The NUA delegation praised the Premier, describing him as the ultimate refuge of citizens in times of adversity. - TradeArabia News Service
