Khalifa Fund features 9 projects at Gulfood

DUBAI, February 8, 2015

Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, which backs projects in food industry owned and managed by Emiratis, is featuring nine projects at the Gulf Food Exhibition (Gulfood), which is currently being held in Dubai Trade Center.

The exhibits are varies between food industries, animals products, sweets, fresh juices as well as the organic products of the farms funded by Khalifa Fund as part of Zaarie Programme which was launched a year ago.

“Khalifa Fund’s participation in Gulfood comes as part of the Fund’s efforts to support the food enterprises supported by the Fund to promote their products and access the local and global market”, said Mouza Obaid Al Nasseri, acting COO of Khalifa Fund.

“Organizing such important exhibition like Gulfood in Dubai, is a real opportunity for the entrepreneurs who owns food projects to promote their products and to build cooperation with local and global companies as well as to explore to others’ experiences in order to improve their own.

“Since the establishment of Khalifa Fund in 2007, 85 projects in the food industry sector received support with total amount of Dh85 million. Supporting such industry will contribute to the nation food security in the UAE,” added Al Nasseri.

“The purpose of participation in Gulfood is to expose the farmers who benefited from Zaarie Program to the marketing opportunities in local & regional markets. The exhibition is great opportunity for the Emiratis farmers to explore to the technology used in packing and storage of farms’ products. It will help them to better understanding of the best practices in marketing their products over the whole year,” said Ahmed Khalfan Al Romaithi, manager of Zaarie Program in Khalifa Fund. – TradeArabia News Service
