A smartphone application providing comprehensive information on mosques in Bahrain has been launched.

The app titled Mosques of Bahrain gives a complete database of more than 680 websites affiliated to the Sunni Endowment, including mosques, Quran study, recitation and memorisation centres, event halls and cemeteries, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Sunni Endowment Board chairman Shaikh Salman bin Isa bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, in a Press conference yesterday, said that the application represents an integrated reference for Sunni Endowment’s facilities.

It is available on Google’s Play Store for android devices.

It also provides a search service for locating mosques and other centres in Google Maps in both Arabic and English.

He added that the application has been downloaded by more than 200 users.

It aims to provide services for the public and imams and muezzins for an easier communication between the two sides. - TradeArabia News Service
