Activists submit petition on Jaafari Family Law to UN

MANAMA, November 26, 2015

A petition calling for a Family Law for Bahrain’s Shi’ite community was submitted to a United Nation’s (UN) office yesterday (November 25), coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Spearheaded by the Bahrain Human Rights Watch Society (BHRWS), the petition was submitted to the Geneva headquarters of the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
