Honda Q1 sales up by 63pc in Bahrain

Manama, April 8, 2008

National Motor Company (NMC), exclusive dealers of Honda Cars and SUVs in Bahrain, has started the year on a strong note, recording an astounding 63 per cent increase in number of cars sold over the corresponding period in 2007.

These latest figures come on the back of an exceptionally good 2007, where total sales figures rose 50 per cent over 2006 year end figures.

These figures were revealed by senior management of NMC at a high level meeting which was also attended by visiting Honda Motor Company Ltd managing director Shigeru Takagi, and executive vice-president, Honda Motors Europe, Toshiaki Mikoshiba.

The strong performance of the Honda brand was led by the high market demand for its top three sellers, the Accord, the Civic and the CR-V. These three models constitute over 75 per cent of sales of the brand.

NMC is in its 20th year of operation and over the past two decades built up a reputation as the leading automotive retailer in Bahrain.

"These figures reflect the strong market leadership of NMC and the great partnership that we have with Honda. We are driving ahead aiming for ever greater heights in sales and standards of customer service,” said general manager, NMC, Geoff Thomas. – TradeArabia News Service
