Suzuki's Lebanon sales up 40pc

Dubai, September 16, 2008

Suzuki Motors Corp said its sales in Lebanon rose 40 per cent during the first half of 2008 compared to the same period a year ago.

The carmaker said its market expansion strategy and an expanded model line-up contributed to the encouraging growth in sales.

Among its new line of vehicles, Suzuki said the SX4 has achieved the most remarkable sales results owing to its versatility and rich features.

Suzuki also said its sole distributor in Lebanon G A Bazerji & Sons will be opening its new after-sales centre in the second week of October, 2008. The new facility will be inaugurated on October 8 and will include a showroom.

'We are pleased to have achieved very positive sales results in the first six months of the fiscal year, which only reflects the strong market value of the Suzuki vehicles in Lebanon. Customers have been very satisfied with the new Suzuki models, especially the SX4, which has been one of the best-selling cars during this period. The prevailing economic situation, particularly rising oil prices, has pushed the popularity of the small A segment model,' said Nabil Bazerji, managing director, G A Bazerji & Sons.

'The increasing demand for Suzuki vehicles in this market is a very good indication of our future prospects as we introduce the Sedan version of the SX4 later this summer. We believe that this volume maker model will help us achieve a quantum leap in sales in the second half of the year,' added Bazerji.

G A Bazerji & Sons also revealed plans to expand its POS, particularly in West Beirut through company-operated premises as well as through appointed sub-dealers. In addition, the Suzuki distributor has conducted aggressive marketing and promotional activities through advertising in various media and selective direct customer contact. - TradeArabia News Service
