Nissan sells record 200,000 vehicles

Dubai, April 8, 2009

Nissan Middle East FZE has achieved a record a financial year (from April 2008 to March 2009) sales across its combined distributors of more than 200,000 units.

This marks an increase of 14 per cent over finanacial year 2007 results.

“2008 was a milestone for sales of Nissan cars, SUVs and light commercial vehicles across this region,” said Atsuo Kosaka, managing director of Nissan Middle East FZE.

“The Middle East continues to be of increasing strategic global importance to Nissan Motor Company and the wide range of vehicles introduced to the Middle East continues to grow,” he added.

“Despite the current economic downturn Nissan aims to continue increasing its share of the Middle Eastern vehicle market and consolidate its position as one of the leading Japanese auto brands in the region – 70 per cent of the GCC car market is covered by Japanese brands.

“Customers in the Middle East can look forward to more new model introductions as the product range will be enhanced with new product launches in 2009 such as the all-new Nissan Murano crossover which is currently launching across the region as part of the largest SUV line-up.”

Nissan is top selling brand in Lebanon for the last four years and was one of the first Japanese auto brands to land in GCC in the early 1950s. Its best selling models in the Middle East include the Tiida and Altima sedans as well as the Patrol, Armada, Pathfinder and Murano SUVs. – TradeArabia News Service
