Kuwait caps oil leak at Ahmadi refinery

Kuwait, May 24, 2008

A fuel oil leak at Kuwait's Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery was brought under control and exports or operations were not affected, state-run Kuwait National Petroleum Company said.

Some 3,500 tonnes of heavy fuel oil leaked from one of the depots at the 450,000 barrels-per-day refinery, but it was halted and did not cause any injuries or environmental damage, a KNPC official was quoted as saying by the state news agency Kuna late on Friday.-Reuters
