UK group Texo to unveil UAVs for energy industry

A new UK-based technology company Texo Drone Survey & Inspection will premier a number of safe, unique and innovative asset survey & inspection applications for the oil and gas industry at the Offshore Europe conference and exhibition in Aberdeen next week.

Texo Drone Survey & Inspection owns and operates the world’s most comprehensive and dynamic fleet of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).

Moreover, it is the first company in the world to deploy a survey-grade light detection and ranging (LiDAR) surveying system on a bespoke UAV, said a senior official.

"Our technology has been designed to meet the needs of the evolving global energy sector," remarked John Wood, chief operating officer, Texo Drone Survey & Inspection (UKCS).

“It enables us to offer industry-leading survey and inspection solutions for accuracy, safety and efficiency, which help deliver real and tangible business and operational benefits for our clients,” he added.

The company’s offshore division, Texo DSI (UKCS) will showcase its fleet of UAVs, incorporating the most advanced survey and inspection technology on the market, at the Aberdeen event, which runs from September 5-8.

Texo Drone currently supports a number of industry sectors, including telecoms, construction, renewables and nuclear, stated Wood.

But it is now moving into offshore oil and gas, where it believes it can deliver a range of world-leading services to help clients operate in a more safe and efficient working environment as well as being more cost and time efficient, he added.

Texo DSI (UKCS) technology is transforming the industry, with its abilities covering everything from maintenance regimes to decommissioning work.

Key services range from visual inspection and thermographic surveys through to detailed mm accurate, survey-grade LiDAR mapping/measurement and multi/hyperspectral analysis.

The company maintains an industry leading remotely piloted air systems (RPAS) feet, comprising of both rotor and fixed wing UAVs with the ability to deploy nationally and overseas at short notice.
