Kathmandu, February 7, 2008

FlyYeti.com, Nepal’s first low-cost carrier (LCC), today launched non-stop service between Kathmandu, the carrier’s global hub, and Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital.

The airline, which will provide service between the two cities five times per week, recently commenced service to Sharjah, UAE, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The inaugural flight landed in Abu Dhabi Airport yesterday (February 6) and was received by the Nepali Ambassador in the UAE along with officials from FlyYeti.com and Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), the owner and operator of Abu Dhabi International Airport.

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, flights will depart Kathmandu at 11 pm and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 2:25 am the following morning. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, flights will depart Abu Dhabi at 3:15 am and arrive in Kathmandu at 8:55 am.

“Less than a month after our inaugural flight, we are delighted to launch service to our third destination, Abu Dhabi, making FlyYeti.com, one of the world’s fastest growing young airlines,” said Adel Ali, board member and CEO of Air Arabia and Yeti Airlines International, the operator of FlyYeti.com.

“Following the introduction of service to Sharjah, Abu Dhabi is now our second destination in the UAE, which demonstrates the importance we place on this dynamic nation. Abu Dhabi is witnessing fast and sustained economic growth and represents an important travel hub. From the modern and attractive Abu Dhabi International Airport, FlyYeti will offer comfortable air travel to the significant population of Nepalese expatriates traveling between these two countries.”
