Bahrain tycoon to share success story

Manama, May 17, 2010

Jamil Amin Wafa, founding partner and chairman of Unitag, will share his life experiences and achievements with an exclusive gathering of members and guests at the Capital Club, Bahrain’s premier business club, on May 19.

The architect of one of Bahrain’s big success stories, Wafa will shed light on his life, business strategies and the personal practices that shaped his success in an interview with Stephen Davie, head of Financial Communications Middle East at Hill and Knowlton.

As an orphan who was forced to flee his own country in his formative years, Wafa worked his way up with determination and hard work and it was these characteristics which fuelled the creation of one of Bahrain's most successful businesses, the Unitag Group.

Wafa continues to display the same enthusiasm and dedication today as he did when he launched the group in 1974. Unitag is active across a variety of sectors from travel to construction, advertising to insurance and catering to finance, said a statement from Capital Club.

The Unitag group is one of the Kingdom’s most prominent conglomerates, with several high-profile infrastructure projects in its portfolio. Wafa has guided the company to record revenues over almost three decades of unparalleled growth.

The Capital Club will host Wafa as part of its 'Under the spotlight 'program which provides personal perspective from the region’s industry and business leaders and entrepreneurs.

The other leading entrepreneurs who will be featured in upcoming sessions include chief executive officer of Investcorp, Nemir Kirdar and Aramex founder and CEO, Fadi Ghandour.

Leading personalities who have recently been under the spotlight include Riad Kamal (founder of Arabtec and Depa), Khalid R. Al Zayani (founder of Al Zayani Investments) and Talal Abu Ghazaleh (founder of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Org.)

As Bahrain’s premier private business club, the Capital Club offers a place to relax, celebrate or network in exclusive surroundings, on the uppermost floors of the iconic Bahrain Financial Harbour.

It regularly hosts social and business gatherings to facilitate networking among Members and to foster an environment of learning from some of the world’s most respected leaders. It offers international privileges through affiliation with more than 250 private clubs worldwide.-TradeArabia News Service
