Dubai, October 13, 2010

Kempinski Hotels has appointed Alejandro Bernabé as general manager of the group’s landmark property in Dubai, Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates.

Bernabé has over 17 years in the hospitality industry including over a decade within the Kempinski fold.

Bernabé career has taken him across the globe from his native Spain, to the USA, Switzerland, South Africa, France, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Russia, Turkey, Malta, Kuwait and Jordan.

Bernabé comes to Dubai from Kempinski Hotel Aqaba, where he was general manager and part of the hotel’s pre-opening team.

With multiple Bachelors' degrees obtained in Spain and the USA, a Hotel Management degree from the Hotel Institute Montreux, Switzerland, and a Master of Business Administration from Reims Management School in France, Bernabé brings a formidable background in management to the table, along with years of practical, on-the-ground experience.

“Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates is a very unique property in a very unique city, and I am very confident that Alejandro, as an accomplished and passionate hotelier, will use his wealth of international experience to help grow the hotel’s already well-established reputation within the UAE’s hospitality sector,” said Ulrich Eckhardt, president Middle East and Africa for Kempinski Hotels.

Bernabé is fluent in Spanish and English, with a good grasp of French.

Bernabé replaces Holger Schroth who is taking over as general manager at the recently soft-opened Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok.-TradeArabia News Service
