Air Arabia boosts Moscow operations

Sharjah, January 7, 2012

Air Arabia, a leading low-cost carrier in the Mena region, has announced the expansion of its services to the Russian capital, Moscow from its primary hub in Sharjah.

Air Arabia now offers five flights per week, an addition of two flights to the existing schedule, making it easier and more convenient for passengers to visit this vibrant city, the airline said in a statement.

The carrier offers direct flights to Moscow on Tuesdays, Wednesday, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays departing Sharjah International Airport at 9:35am and arriving at Moscow Domodedova Airport at 2:45pm, it stated.

On return the flights will depart from Moscow on the same days at 3.45pm and arrive in Sharjah at 8:50pm, it added.

“We are extremely pleased to announce the expansion of service between Sharjah and Moscow, which will further enhance travel options for the residents of both cities,” said AK Nizar, head of Commercial Department, Air Arabia.

'Since the introduction of services to Moscow in October, Air Arabia has seen great demand on this route,' explained Nizar.

'We are confident that the increase in frequency of services to the Russian capital will further enhance travel and tourism ties between the two nations by offering customers choice and great value and service,' he added.

Moscow, with a population in excess of 10.5 million, is the most populous city in Russia, the largest nation on earth, and is the country’s economic and political centre, said the statement.

The UAE is home to an increasingly significant Russian expatriate community, and is also one of the preferred holiday destinations for residents of the country, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
