Gulf Air launches Thiruvananthapuram service

Manama, December 15, 2013

Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air has launched its inaugural flight to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, as part of its Indian expansion strategy.

It will fly five times a week from Bahrain to Thiruvananthapuram, said Gulf Air in a statement.

Commenting on the launch, A Hussain A Rahman Hussain, Gulf Air country manager, India, stated: “We are delighted to be strengthening Gulf Air’s network and boosting our Indian operations. The addition of Thiruvananthapuram to our network supplements the airline’s product offering, increasing customer convenience – which is our ultimate goal.”

India, he said, is one of the key markets for Gulf Air and the airline shares a historical relationship with the country spanning over 40 years, with the first flight to Mumbai inaugurated in November 1971.

The national carrier recently introduced a brand new Airbus A321 aircraft into India, equipped with the latest in-flight entertainment technology and fully-flat beds in Falcon Gold class. - TradeArabia News Service
