Turkish Airlines...expecting delivery of A330s

Turkish Airlines in talks with Aercap to dry lease A330s

ISTANBUL, January 19, 2015

Turkish Airlines is in talks with Aercap to dry lease three Airbus A330-200 planes and expects their delivery in April, May and June if a deal is reached, its chief investment officer said on Monday.

The Turkish flag-carrier is also working on plans to purchase Boeing B747-8, B787 Dreamliner and Airbus A350, A380, A330Neo aircraft, Chief Investment and Technology Officer Ahmet Bolat said.

"The aviation industry is expecting a good trend this year. Especially if the situation improves in Ukraine and the Middle East, we expect a significant improvement in passenger traffic," Bolat said.

The carrier's fleet size may rise to 300 this year from 261 at the end of 2014, partly on the back of higher passenger numbers, he added.

Turkish Airlines had previously announced a fleet size target of 293 for 2015. It expects to carry 65 million passengers this year, up from 54.7 million in 2014. -Reuters
