Mauritius...popular destination for weddings

Mauritius gaining popularity among UAE wedding planners

MAURITIUS, April 16, 2015

More and more elite wedding professionals from the UAE are considering Mauritius as a preferred destination for clients looking to hold their wedding ceremonies abroad, according to organisers of the Destination Wedding Planners Congress (DWP), which concluded yesterday (April 15).

Organised by QnA International, the exclusive event, brought together the Top 100 elite wedding planners from over 50 countries, as well as some of the world’s finest wedding suppliers at the LUX* Belle Mare in Mauritius, a five-star luxury hotel in the country.

Also present at the event was Ali Bakhtiar, one of the renowned names in the UAE wedding planning circle who has developed a client base that includes royalties, socialites and business moguls from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, US, UK, France, Russia, India and Thailand.

This year’s DWP Congress highlighted Mauritius’ growing importance as a preferred overseas wedding destination by couples from the UAE and elsewhere in the world looking for a romantic and idyllic venue to hold their special day.

“Destination weddings are a great way to ensure you have a wedding that is decidedly you, and the trend is gaining traction,” said Ackash Jain, director of QnA International. “Over the past years, DWP Congress has become an important global platform for companies in the bespoke wedding industry to network with peers from other destinations.” – TradeArabia News Service
