Guests at the gala event

BAC hosts appreciation dinner for key partners

MANAMA, April 27, 2015

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), recently hosted an appreciation dinner for travel agents and airline country managers from the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.

The event was attended by senior management from BAC, as well as key BIA partners and stakeholders. The guests were welcomed by Mohamed Khalil, chief commercial officer of BAC, who praised their continuous efforts in promoting BIA as a destination hub for residents in the Eastern Province, further boosting traffic flow as a result.

Khalil also confirmed that the airport witnessed a significant jump in passenger numbers compared to last year and BAC is confident that with the on-going support of BIA’s esteemed partners they will be able to exceed their future targets.

“The BAC team has been concentrating its efforts on managing BIA as a friendly and efficient airport. 2014 was a significant year for BIA in this regard marking a 10 per cent surge in passenger numbers compared to 2013; this was a tremendous achievement for BIA and by reflection BAC. Our aim is to further grow this number and we are confident that with your help, we will be successful in not only reaching our targets but surpassing them”, said Khalil.

He also reiterated the kingdom’s leading role in developing the regional aviation industry and touched on future plans to strengthen BIA’s competitive advantage and further attract new entrants whilst building the airport’s potential for increased aeronautical and non-aeronautical activity.

“Today, our airport continues to play a key role in the fast-paced aviation sector and remains very attractive for global commercial and cargo airlines keen to benefit from BIA’s strong connectivity network, efficient airside operations and unique marketing mix. Our plans to modernise and upgrade BIA will without doubt improve the passenger travel experience and offer airline partners the additional support they require whilst optimising the opportunities available for increased revenue generation. We have no doubt that our future vision will solidify BIA’s competitiveness as a prominent hub in the region and your support is invaluable in realising our goals”, Khalil said. – TradeArabia News Service
