Madhya Pradesh Tourism wins Hall of Fame Award

NEW DELHI, October 4, 2017

Madhya Pradesh was recently presented the Hall of Fame Award for its tourism initiatives at a grand ceremony organised at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, India.

The award was conferred on September 27 and was presented by Indian President Ramnath Kovind to Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge) Surendra Patwa; chairman of State Tourism Development Corporation Tapan Bhoumik; and Secretary Tourism Hariranjan Rao.

Madhya Pradesh also became the first state in India to take home the 'Best Tourism State' National Award for three consecutive years.

Madhya Pradesh bagged 10 awards simultaneously for World Tourism Day. The state was awarded the 'Most Innovative Tourist Product' award for ‘Hanuwantiya Jal Mahotsav’ and 'Best State for Adventure Tourism' award. While Chanderi was adjudged the 'Best Heritage City', the 'Best Tourist Friendly Railway Station' award went to Ujjain Railway Station and 'Best Civic Management of a Tourist Destination of India' was awarded to Khargone. The English Coffee Table Book published by M.P Tourism Board won national award for 'Excellence in Publishing'.

Similarly, Madhya Pradesh also received the national award for Film Promotion Policy in 'Best Film Promotion Friendly State/Union Territory'. The Hindi brochure published by Madhya Pradesh Tourism in Simhastha 2016 has bagged national award for 'Excellence in Publishing' in Hindi. 'Best Wildlife Guide' national award was awarded to Shri Saib Khan of Pachmarhi.

Madhya Pradesh is home to amazing tourist sites, three world heritage sites, two jyotirlingas, historical and religious heritage sites and eco-tourism and national parks. - TradeArabia News Service
