Shangri-La appoints new sales head for Muscat hotels

MUSCAT, February 22, 2018

Sandra Simone Leibrock has joined Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts as director of sales and marketing overseeing Muscat’s two distinct properties Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa and Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa.
 
With over 20 years in the hospitality and tourism industry, German national Leibrock has worked in markets as diverse as US, Caribbean, UAE, Qatar, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and Switzerland for Ritz Carlton, Starwood Hotels, Kempinski, and One & Only. Prior to joining Shangri-La Leibrock was director of sales and marketing for the pre-opening for One & Only Seef Bahrain.

In her new role, Leibrock will be responsible for sales, event sales, catering sales, marketing, communications and reservations teams’ leadership, with a focus on driving revenue and contributing to the marketing and business strategy of the flagship property.

With extensive experience in development and task force, Leibrock will further strengthen the reputation of both Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa and Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa with partners, stakeholders and clients.
She will also lead the repositioning efforts of Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa as a private standalone resort distinct from adjacent sister property Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa comprising of two hotel wings, Al Waha and Al Bandar.

In addition to her native language - German, Leibrock is also fluent in English, Spanish and has a basic knowledge of French. She holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Hotel Management and a Masters’ Degree in Development Economics & International Development from Germany.
