NAS unveils premium Derwaza Lounge at Kuwait Airport

KUWAIT, December 23, 2018

National Aviation Services (NAS), the fastest growing aviation services provider in emerging markets, has unveiled its renewed, premium “Derwaza” Lounge at the Kuwait International Airport Terminal 1 (T1).

The official opening, held under the patronage of the directorate general of Civil Aviation (DGCA) - Kuwait, was led by Engineer Yousef Sulaiman Al Fouzan, director general of Civil Aviation; Hassan El-Houry, group CEO, NAS; and Mansour Al-Khezeim, general manager, NAS Kuwait.

With a fresh, contemporary look and unique features, the refurbished Derwaza Lounge covers 585-sq-m, including ample seating space, a business centre, private workspaces, meeting rooms and a kids room. A complete hot and cold buffet, live cooking stations, refreshments and beverages offer a host of dining options.

For the ultimate privacy during phone conversations, the Derwaza Lounge offers unique soundproof telephone booths. Free wi-fi, live streaming TV channels and a selection of reading material ensure a wide array of entertainment options. The lounge also includes a prayer room, shower facilities and a cigar room.

It is the perfect spot for passengers to relax, unwind or freshen up before and after the flight, away from the hustle and bustle of the airport. Passengers also benefit from a comfortable working space to catch up on some last minute emails before a long flight.

Located in the departures area after immigration, the lounge caters to both outbound as well as arriving passengers.

Passengers can book the lounge before their flight through the online platform www.fasttrack.aero.

The Derwaza Lounge is one of four lounges operated by NAS Kuwait under the supervision of the Kuwait Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

El-Houry said: “NAS has been operating the Derwaza Lounge since 2009. As a fast-growing company based in Kuwait, it is our top most priority to ensure that we offer world-class facilities and services to the airports in Kuwait. This includes investments in infrastructure, resources and training, and providing operational expertise, state of the art technology solutions and industry benchmarked services. The refurbishment of the Derwaza Lounge comes as part of these continued investments and we would like to thank the Kuwait Directorate General of Civil Aviation for their ongoing support and cooperation.”

NAS has an established presence across the Middle East, Africa and Asia. It has become the leading aviation services company in emerging markets, with operations in Abu Dhabi, India, Egypt and 20 other countries in 40 airports.

NAS provides ground handling services to seven out of the world’s top 10 ranked airlines and manages more than 35 airport lounges in over 17 countries globally. - TradeArabia News Service
