Gulf Air to soon restart flights to Iraqi cities

Bahrain's national airline Gulf Air has announced the resumption of its flights to the Republic of Iraq from its hub in Manama. 
 
Gulf Air’s first flight to Iraq was launched in 1974 and slowly it expanded to Baghdad, Najaf and Erbil cities. The flights to these three cities was suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Gulf Air Group Chairman Zayed R. Alzayani lauded the government's decision to restart direct flights between Bahrain to Iraq. 
 
Alzayani stressed the significance of this development in terms of the airline’s network expansion.
 
According to him, the flight schedule and frequencies will be announced following the completion of all official procedures.
 
According to him, Gulf Air commenced operations in 1950, becoming one of the first commercial airlines established in the Middle East. 
 
The airline operates scheduled flights from its hub at Bahrain International Airport to over 40 cities in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Indian sub-continent and the Far East.-TradeArabia News Service
