Jera, Japan’s largest power generation company and a global energy leader, has taken a major step to strengthen Japan’s energy security by signing a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with QatarEnergy, alongside a new emergency supply cooperation framework involving Japan’s government.
ERA has signed a seven-year LNG supply agreement with Hokkaido Gas, starting in 2027, to deliver two to three LNG cargoes annually, equivalent to 130,000–200,000 tonnes per year, on a delivered ex-ship basis from its global LNG portfolio.
JERA, Japan’s power generation company, has been certified by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) as a Supplier of Low-Carbon Hydrogen and its Derivatives under the “Support Focusing on the Price Gap” Scheme established by the Hydrogen Society Promotion Act.
Jera, Japan's energy company, via its subsidiary Jera Americas, has agreed to acquire 100% of South Mansfield upstream assets in Louisiana's Haynesville Shale from Williams and GEP Haynesville II. The $1.5 billion investment targets over 500 MMscfd production and 200 undeveloped locations.
