Master-developer Nakheel has unveiled the design for the Palm Jebel Ali Friday Mosque, a landmark project that will form the spiritual and cultural heart of the island. Designed by global architecture practice Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), it can accommodate up to 1,000 worshippers.
Bahrain's Urban Planning and Development Authority (UPDA) has signed a contract with international consultancy firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) to develop the Bahrain National Strategic Structure Plan 2050, that will guide every aspect of the kingdom’s sustainable urban planning and development over the next 25 years.
