Aramco-Dow Chemicals JV shuts down production at Saudi plant

Sadara Chemical, a joint venture between Saudi oil ​giant Aramco and US chemicals firm Dow, has announced that it has temporarily shut down production at its parent-operated plant. Sadara Chemical operates a ‌complex in Jubail with an ​annual production ⁠capacity of 3 million MT of chemicals and plastics.

Alba cuts 19pc output as Hormuz closure disrupts trade

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world’s largest smelter on one site, has initiated a controlled and safe shutdown of Reduction Lines 1, 2 and 3, which together represent 19% of Alba’s total production capacity, as an operational measure to preserve business continuity following the closure of Strait of Hormuz.
