French energy giant Engie has announced the financial close for Barka 3 and Sohar 2 - two key combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plants located in Oman. The refinancing follows 15-year extensions of both plants’ power purchase agreements (PPAs) earlier this year, which secure their operations until 2043.
