Travel and tourism conditions have strengthened globally and are at their strongest since 2019, said a new WEF report. Around 92% of the 110 economies in the 2026 Travel & Tourism Development Index (TTDI) improved their score since 2024, with Japan taking the top position.
Global travel and tourism is forecast to continue outpacing wider economic growth in 2026, with the sector expected to contribute $12 trillion to the world economy, accounting for 9.9% of global GDP, according to new data from the World Travel & Tourism Council.
