Innovation forum kicks off in Dubai

Dubai, June 22, 2008

Leaders Presents, the team behind Leaders in Dubai, has kicked off their second Management Innovation Forum at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai.

Carrying the theme ‘Driving Incomparable Profitable Growth through Innovation’ the forum will focus on innovation strategy and cover a number of topics ranging from how to manage and drive business innovation to how to 'think' innovatively and achieve an organization’s highest possible innovation potential, said an official spokesman.

“It will also analyse innovation’s hottest concepts and their relevance to this region including disruptive innovation, sustainable innovation, collaboration and co-creation.
“Innovation is the lifeblood of any business,” said conference director Purva Hassomal.

“In today’s challenging economic environment, it may be tempting to scale back but it is actually more important than ever to innovate. This year, the Management Innovation Forum will focus on deconstructing the issues and challenges facing companies in the Middle East on the path to innovation. The forum will help attendees identify ways to turn innovation from theory to a business reality.”

The forum will feature a variety of world famous business leaders including Tom Kelley, Kjell A. Nordström, Matt Kingdon, Mehmood Khan, Clive Grinyer, Adrian Hayes, Rowan Gibson and Stefan Jenzowsky.

The forum will also feature regional leaders including Malek Inja from Dubai Holdings, Simon Ford from Blue Banana and James Piecowye from Zayed University and Dubai Eye, who will discuss key opportunities and challenges in the Middle East that drive or hamper innovation and power profitable business growth.

“Many studies have shown that businesses that actively pursue innovation generate more growth and profits than those that do not,” said managing director of Blue Banana Simon Ford.

“Often, companies have more than enough new ideas, but they struggle with transforming those ideas into profits. This forum will help companies identify criteria and adopt decision-making strategies to determine which projects or ideas to pursue. What companies must recognize though is that innovation is more than creativity. While creativity involves the production of new and valuable ideas, innovation is turning those ideas into profits.”

The four-day Management Innovation Forum, which is sponsored by Etisalat and AIS>BrandLab, will conclude on June 25. Media partners include BBC World and CNBC Arabia. – TradeArabia News Service
