Hautlence unveils its HLQ collection

Dubai, January 3, 2009

Hautlence, one of the most coveted Swiss watch brands, has unveiled its Basel 2008 novelty, the HLQ line, which epitomises innovative watchmaking concepts, technique and contemporary design.

The HLQ collection plays with geometric symbols and the logo invites one to reflect virtually at the metaphysical level.

This collection is more than a luxurious accessory and adds to the wearer’s glamour making an HLQ timepiece an object of desire for every watch enthusiast, said a statement.

The watch flaunts a unique personality transported by opulence and showing fierce attention to details. It also highlights the use of space and the sector devoted to reading the minutes.

The jumping hour and retrograding minutes are still commanded by the ingenious patented HL mechanism, which combines the slide-bar’s translation, driven by retraction of the snail’s feeler-spindle, with a gold inertia-block that acts as an inertia wheel providing the energy required to make the disc jump.

HLQ uses the time-display principle adopted for its first caliber and the HL movement has been rebuilt with the date in the form of a calendar disc peripheral to the jumping hour and retrograding minute assembly.

By offering a second movement - developed and manufactured independently as part of its collection - the young Manufacture is showing clear intention to transcend time.

The Hautlence designers made sure that the new heart of the HLQ retains the same visual associations but does not reuse the same kinematics for reading the time.

Hence, the round calibre with manual winding uses - in this configuration integrating a calendar disc - a sectoral gear coupled with a calibrated, and micrometric toothed pinion that is directly engaged with the minute-hand axis.-TradeArabia News Service
